Warner Bros. Discovery and CJ ENM, a leading Korean studio, have formed a multi-year strategic alliance to co-produce Korean dramas and integrate CJ's TVING streaming service into the HBO Max platform across Asia. This partnership marks a significant milestone for Warner Bros. Discovery, as it is their most substantial commitment to the popular genre of Korean content. It also highlights CJ ENM's ongoing efforts to expand the global reach of Korean storytelling, building on the success of their critically acclaimed and commercially successful dramas such as Parasite and Crash Landing on You. The collaboration will begin in early 2026, offering HBO Max subscribers in 17 Asian markets exclusive access to a dedicated TVING hub, featuring new original K-dramas and a diverse library of scripted and unscripted titles. Prior to the launch, several K-content titles will be released, with the highly anticipated drama Dear X premiering on November 6th. The partnership also involves joint investments and co-production of original Korean dramas for global distribution on HBO Max, further solidifying the companies' commitment to bringing high-quality Korean content to a worldwide audience. This deal is a testament to CJ ENM's growing global partnerships, including their long-standing relationship with Netflix, where they have supplied popular Korean series. With HBO Max joining their roster of global partners, CJ ENM continues to solidify its position as a leading provider of premium Korean storytelling, aiming for the sustainable growth of K-culture on a global scale.
